AU MEME | Star Trek in the 1920s requested by… no one. I was trying to fulfil a request for a western Star Trek graphic but it somehow devolved into this. Imagine it’s a reboot of “A Piece of the Action” but with all of them, mmk.

brodinsons:

I’m just going to go on record now and say that when I saw this movie in the theatre, I almost threw my drink at the screen and walked out once this scene faded to the title cards. I seriously couldn’t believe that there were tears on my cheeks less than five minutes after the start of a goddamn Trek movie. But then I watched the rest of it and realized that by tearing your heart out at the very beginning, J.J. was just giving you a taste of how amazing the rest of it was going to be. Well played, Mr. Abrams.

Attention impatient sequelphiles: Vulture can confirm that J.J. Abrams has finally committed to shooting Star Trek 2. Insiders familiar with the director’s plans tell Vulture that pre-production is underway, that the script will be done by month’s end and that Abrams will start shooting this winter.
