The Decemberists | Shankill Butchers
Cause everybody knows
If you don’t mind your mother’s words
A wicked wind will blow your ribbons from your curls
Everybody moan, everybody shake
The Shankill Butchers wanna catch you awake

This is as good a place to fall as any,
We build our altar here.
Make me your Maria,
I’m already on my knees.
You had Jesus on your breath,
And I caught him in mine.
Sweating our confessions,
The undone and the divine.

3. Ke$ha’s “Tik-Tok” sold more copies than ANY Beatles single

4. Flo Rida’s “Low” has sold 8 million copies – the same as The Beatles’ “Hey Jude”

11. The cast of “Glee” has had more songs chart than the Beatles

CAN WE PLEASE, AS A CULTURE, GET OVER THE BEATLES.  I KNOW, LOTS OF PEOPLE LIKED THEM AND THEY WERE SEMINAL AND BLAH BLAH BLAH.

BUT IT HAS BEEN 50 YEARS CAN WE MOVE THE FUCK ON, PLEASE.

GET OVER THE BEATLES???

FOR GOD’S SAKE, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?? WE CAN’T MOVE THE FUCK ON BECAUSE THEY ARE THE FUCKING BEATLES. NOT JUSTIN BIEBER OR RIHANNA.

I get it that people don’t like The Beatles. I freakin’ GET IT, OKAY? But they did SO MUCH for music, that even if you don’t like them, I think that you have to, at the very least, APPRECIATE OR RESPECT THEM.

Without The Beatles, I seriously doubt that a lot of the artists (or “artists”) that we have today wouldn’t even be around. So many musical greats (and whatever flavour of the month people are currently listening to) list The Beatles as an influence.

So, no. We ARE NOT going to MOVE ON from The Beatles, okay?

Maroon 5 — Move Like Jagger

I have such a love/hate relationship with Maroon 5, and have since Songs About Jane. The music is so catchy, but at the basis of it, it’s a band with a smokin’ hot leading man whose music boils down to… being horny.

Doesn’t stop me from listening to it, though. OMG SO CONFLICTED. *clicks play anyway*
