in 2008, after 65 years in cryogenic stasis, bucky’s body is discovered in the alps. he is turned over to the u.s. government, and resurrected by s.h.i.e.l.d., who train him as an operative. when steve is found and defrosted three years later, he awakens from his long sleep to find - against all odds - his oldest friend waiting at his bedside.
